It may seem strange that I have written up such a basic recipe but whenever I make my easy guacamole I always get compliments on it so I wanted to include it on my website so you guys can try it at home. I personally think guacamole is often overcomplicated and I am a firm believer that, when it comes to goold old guac, less is more! All you need is a sharp citrusy flavour to cut through the creamy avocado and a pinch of seasoning.

This makes the perfect addition to salads and burgers and makes a great dip for chips and crisps in addition to working perfectly with nachos, enchiladas and other traditional Mexican cuisine. I also love layering this between my Baked Cheese Waffles, the recipe for which you can find here or on top of my Loaded Sweet Potato Nachos which you can find here.

If you do prefer your guacamole jazzed up a little more then you could simply just use this as a base recipe. You can really personalise this by adding in chopped tomato, chilli flakes, finely sliced red onion, chopped coriander, etc, anything you like really. You could make this in advance if you wanted, however, I do think it is better to make it fresh as the avocado will start to darken in colour. Plus, it really only does take a few minutes to throw together.

I don’t like my guacamole to be completely smooth and instead prefer it with a little texture. For that reason I simply mash the avocado with the back of a fork for a few minutes to make this guacamole, however, you could always add it to a food processor if you would prefer a really smooth version.

For other dips why not try my Houmous recipe, my Creamy Jalopeno Dressing or my Red Pepper & Feta Dip.
