This delicious super smoothie is the perfect combination of sweet, creamy and tart and is my favourite way to start the day!
When I was in Tanzania I did a home stay in Moshi with a couple named Theo and Stella who took their role of being our Tanzanian parents very seriously! Not only did Stella cook for us every night but she whipped us up a delicious smoothie on our last day consisting of avocado, banana and apple juice. Even though the combination of flavours was so simple it was honestly just the best smoothie I have ever had!
Since being home I have played around with the amounts a little and added some spinach in, creating what I think is just the best smoothie bowl base. If desired you could also add a little bit of kale in for some extra hidden greens! With Stella’s permission I am sharing it with you guys!
I like my smoothie bowls to be quite thick but if you wanted it even thicker just reduce the amount of apple juice used. For a thinner consistency just add a little extra liquid at a time until you reach the level of runny you are happy with. When I have the time I like to top my super smoothie with all sorts including fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butters, biscuits, cacao nibs, granola, cereal, etc! The topping possibilities are endless really so play around with them and see what tasty creations you can come up with! When I am short on time I will still make this but just drink it straight out of the smoothie bottle while running errands or working.
