These simple but delicious sesame cookies are so easy to make and only require a handful of ingredients. I am a huge fan of peanut butter, especially when paired with chocolate, so really do love these! The combination of sweet and salty works so well here and the sesame seeds add some extra depth creating a really lovely snack.
Although these do not take long to make, they do require some patience as the peanut butter, maple syrup and salt mixture needs to be really firm before you roll it into balls otherwise the cookies will not work. For that reason, you will need to choose a peanut butter with a firm texture as your base ingredient rather than a runny one. This will ensure the consistency of the sesame cookies is better.
I think that the dark chocolate drizzle works perfectly here and really does take these cookies to the next level, however, if you are not really a fan then you can skip this step. If preferred, you could add a sprinkling of sesame seeds to the cookies before you bake them to really enhance their rich flavour.
Despite these being sesame cookies, there is not actually any sesame in the dough. This means that anyone who dislikes or is allergic to sesame could still enjoy these cookies by simply omitting the sesame seed topping. Similarly if you are looking to reduce your salt intake you just simply omit this ingredient, however, they really do enhance the flavours in these sesame cookies.
